The recalled piece of the play-scape came today. I got out your tools and started to work on it right away. I hope you don't mind that I talk to you while I use your tools. They were so much a part of you I just feel like you are there watching me when I use them. If you're there watching, I might as well go ahead and talk to you, right? Don't worry, I know you have always had some issues about putting them in exactly the right spot. I make sure that as soon as I am done I put the tools right where they were just in case. Q is also quite taken by your tools and I had a serious battle on my hands trying to keep her from grabbing them. Every time I turned around there was Q holding a tool in her hand saying,"Here Daddy!" T was behaving himself very well. He is turning into such a good kid. I know your proud of him. He does a great job helping us keep Q safe. He is like an early warning system. When she does something dangerous he comes running into the room and tells us right away so we can stop her. Poor girl doesn't have a chance.
As I was assembling the swing set, T watched me closely. I explained to him what I was doing and we talked about screws and bolts and nuts. He laughed pretty hard when I showed him the nut driver. I had to laugh a little with him on that one. It reminded me of the time some kid destroyed my bike when I was a kid, and you went and got an old bike for us to rebuild together. We stripped it down to the bare frame and rebuilt it together. It is one of my favorite memories. I hope T and Q can someday look back on some memories like that.
The project is finished now, but not yet tested. The mosquitoes in the back got pretty bad this evening, so my testers were not able to play on it yet. T is very excited about it though, so I a sure it will get a good work out after school tomorrow. Here is what it looks like:
